Family Constellations And The Collective Unconscious Essays
Family Constellations And The Collective Unconscious Essays Family Constellations And The Collective Unconscious Essay Family Constellations And The Collective Unconscious Essay Family Constellations And The Collective Unconscious Family Constellations and the Collective Unconscious Although many psychological and psychiatric theories abound, depending on what school a person adopts, most of the theories pretty much originate from a specific source and branch from there. This is true, especially when it comes to family dynamics. In trying to fathom emotions of the modern family of today, Bert Hellinger, in his book ?Love?s Hidden Symmetry,? has come up with certain conclusions about why we react the way we do, and namely, it is so we fit in with our family group more effectively. Yet it can be said that Hellinger is not necessarily the first to have brought up this theory. Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud?s protege, came up with some similar dynamics, but instead of addressing these dynamics as the ?family constellation,? as Hellinger calls it, Jung tagged it the ?collective unconscious.? Although these two mental health experts lived a century apart, their theories both have many similarities. In this paper, I will try to identify both of the theories, then compare and contrast them with one another. Finally, I will place my personal thoughts and experiences explaining how this has touched my own life. In his book, Hellinger puts forward that people generally behave the : hellinger, family, 2002, unconscious, jung, mccarthy, collective, parents, love, , child, theory, member, theories, own, much, control, children, way, order, one, necessarily, individual, idea, hellinger?s, constellations, both, in, toward, rather, personal, part, orders, motivations, members, forces

Gender Portrayal and the Idea of the Gaze Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Gender Portrayal and the Idea of the Gaze - Essay Example Gender refers to the characteristics associated with men, women and children. This is usually based on the understanding and belief that men and women behave differently and this is usually caused by their traditions, culture and experiences. People have always associated some behavior with a particular gender and this has led to stereotyping that associated one sex with a certain way of behaving (Gurley 12). Gender has been portrayed in different ways by the media, literature, society and traditions. Education has also contributed to gender stereotypes that have affected the performance of students. The media plays an important role of educating the public about various issues that affect their lives. In addition, it entertains, persuades and informs the public about past, present and the future events that play significant roles in their affairs. However, films, cartoons and documentaries aired in the media have depicted women as weak and that they cannot do anything without being assisted by men (Gurley 25). This belief has been developed in youths who think that all women are weak. On the other hand, men have been depicted as heroes and that they can manage all situations that women cannot even dream of solving. In addition, learning institutions have also contributed to gender stereotype by separating boys from girls in various activities. Schools have different games for boys and girls and it is very rare to find them playing together even if it is a similar game (Gurley 33). In addition, most girls are discouraged from taking since subjects since these are perceived to be difficult and only boys can manage them. The family has also contributed to gender stereotypes by advocating for different shoes, clothes and toys for boys and girls. It is very common to hear a parent telling a young boy to stop crying like a girl and most girls are discouraged from climbing trees since this is associated with boys. The society plays a significant role in educating

Strikes and Employment Relations Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words
Strikes and Employment Relations - Essay Example Changes in the definition and description of workforce conflicts across various time periods will provide an exhaustive understanding of whether the conflict can be considered as an influential feature of contemporary employment relations or not. Strikes can be described as the temporary disruption of work by certain groups of workers or employees. The objective behind strikes is expressing grievance or enforcing particular demand. Strikes can be temporary and in severe cases may lead to permanent closure of the factory or manufacturing site. In general, strikes have always been hampering for the company as it involves loss of time, money and productivity. However, strikes have been used as an influential method by worker unions to put their demands in front of the management. Strikes are conducted with specific and calculative purposes. As a result of its high influence and potential harm, they are often considered as a biggest manifestation of the industrial conflict. Nonetheless, looking at the present decline in the number of strikes, it cannot be concluded that strikes are the only source of conflict between employees or workers and management. Yet, it cannot be concluded that strikes have lost their importance or are sh rinking. From a worldwide perspective, it is clear that strikes are still a major source of communication and interaction in many parts of the globe. The interconnectivity between employment relations and human resource management can be understood by associating them with different managerial ideologies. For instance, unitarist ideology is dominated by autocratic and authoritarian style, where managerial control over decision making in disciplined and under strict control. In another form, unitarism can also be considered as a more paternalist management approach.Ã

Happy and Succeed Essay Example for Free
Happy and Succeed Essay Most students graduate from high school knowing what they want to persuade in life and accomplish, many other students donââ¬â¢t have a clue about anything they want to do nor persuade so for example, in the article The Pink Floyd Night School by Mark Edmundson, he as many other students after graduating high school didnââ¬â¢t know what he was going to do or study as a career, basically he had no clue of what he wanted. Life experience brought him the knowledge of knowing what he wanted to do in his career life. Edmundson uses many life experiences, as well as vivid examples to expand his argument of why he thinks students should take time off of school and about a year to just relax and figure out what career exactly do they want. Besides Edmundson taking it slow and his friends moving on to the fast lane of working and studying for good paying job without taking a break after high school, Edmundson took five years relaxing and working. In the article The Pink Floyd Nigh School Edmundson says, ââ¬Å"The culture is on their side when they tell me about law school and med school and higher degrees in journalism and business; or when they tell me about research grant in China or a well-paying gig teaching English in Japan. Iââ¬â¢m impressed, sure but Iââ¬â¢m worried about them too. Arenââ¬â¢t they deciding too soon? Shouldnââ¬â¢t they hang out a little, learn to take it slow? â⬠Edmundson is worried about his students taking life way too fast. Choosing careers without even thinking about how young they are and not realizing that their life is going to move very fast that in a blink of an eye their teenage life will be gone and they wouldnââ¬â¢t have that experience that he had as a teenager freshly coming out of high school of just relaxing thinking very well of what he wants. Recall a saying in life that says ââ¬Å"If you work for something you love you will never have to work a day in your life. If student now take is slow and experience and live life to the fullest think of the long run and what will make them happy instead of looking for something that is financially good for them even if they donââ¬â¢t like it.. These people wont enjoy life and wont have any type of life experience that can change and expand their decisions of careers. Going to a four year college straight out of high school or moving to an other place to get what you want isnââ¬â¢t bad at all but in Edmundson mind your not going to get the life experiences that you can get in the streets inside of a four year college. Sure you will get the career faster then the other people that choose to slow down but whatââ¬â¢s a few year. Life is short donââ¬â¢t miss out in living. Furthermore, Edmundson worked as a Cab driver , Manager at a movie house, crewman on a ship and a doorman in a disco. But his best job was a gig on the stage crew for a rock production company in Jersey City. Edmundson states, ââ¬Å"The most memorable job of all though was a gig on the stage crew for a rock production company in Jersey Cityâ⬠¦.à That could hold 60,000 counting seats on grass I humped amps out of the truck and onto the stages. â⬠Edmundson shared this vivid example of his life because he loves it and will never forget a memorable loving job that he liked doing. Teenagers these days jump into a carree and then change it in the long run. Or they become parents at a young age that their life pauses because now its not about them its about their child and what is best for them inside of themselves . Their life moves way to fast they get caught up in the moment and donââ¬â¢t take time to relax.. If he would have gone to college he wouldnââ¬â¢t have met nor work on something he liked a lot and it wouldnââ¬â¢t have made him a teacher in Vermont. Edmundson got to live his life and then got to business. He is doing something that he likes and gives him the opportunity of going back in time in his memory of his life flashbacks of when he was in high school and what happen to him when he was young. He gets to tell it to his students and learns something new each year of all the generations he gets to see and talks too of how life was then and how is life now. Donââ¬â¢t let life pass you by. Everyone can still be successful but taking time off school it will give you a better chance of figuring out what exactly do you want to do for your career and in life. In other words, Edmundson never even thought that his life experience would take him to an education path to get his degree in something that he would enjoy doing. He gets the pleasure of teaching kids but as well as going back in time remembering what he went threw to get to his career. He got to live his life, relaxing and enjoying five years of doing nothing but working. Take life easy and enjoy it. donââ¬â¢t make stress if you donââ¬â¢t have to.

Even though you donââ¬â¢t get the money back that you put into it, renting could be a more satisfying option for some. This is because renting allows for flexibility. The person can move wherever as soon as there lease is up. Renters may see buying as ââ¬Å"a reduction in lifestyle, moving to a smaller place, and perhaps a less expensive neighborhood.â⬠(CNN Money, 2014). For example someone who rents an apartment enjoys how the complex keeps up the area and all the amenities it has to offer, and it is in an upper class part of town. International Language Essay
Across 294 countries in the world, there are about 6,500 languages are commonly using in the daily life. The domination of English has been proved as an international language all across with the coming of globalization in future, English is the language of diplomacy and international communications for the use of business, tourism, education, science, computer technology, media, Internet and etc. Without language, all the things couldnââ¬â¢t happen and stay in place like today. People nowadays who stand in the marketplace ordinarily using English as an international language for the purpose of fulfilling communicative needs, a common language to facilitate trade and communication seems unavoidable. Some people think that globalization will become a big threat to the national, cultural and even religious identities as using only a single language and ultimatum to the development of a country. Posses single language may lead to cultural corrosion, a loss of local linguistic knowledge, and mainly will cause to losing of own language which is the carrier of all their cultural values identity is the first thought of conservative minded while they firstly expose to the word of globalization. However, in my opinion, it is possible to use an official international language and still retain theirs own languages with their own cultures values identity. I presented to support that having a single language as an international official language not only provides the opportunities for social mobility and modernity but also removes the probability of losing the national language the carrier of identity by helping people to be identified to the whole world as they are given voices. It is getting involved in international interactions and communications is required. Therefore, to be an active participant in globalized relations, it is necessary to adopt the international language. Using an international language provides opportunities for people to make contributions to the formation and development of that language to lead to scientific and cultural independence. Language is only the instrument of communication for people around the world. Many countries had been adapted to the cultural with an official language or languages. In any country where there are innumerable languages spoken, there is a need for official languages to ensure the flow of communication between different sections of the population and the different states. Above all, international language is important as a common language for people, without language, there will be absence of interaction between people, while there will be a link occurred to no communication to no trading and etc. Itââ¬â¢s also important in every aspect for the world. Nowadays, English is considered the universal language for business, international communications, entertainment, tourism, trade and technology. The majority of all resources on the internet are all in English, affecting people to learn English to take full advantage of it. More important, learning English is significant for human to being able for information exchange and connecting to others. In the prevalent globalization there is no doubt that an international language is unavoidability. While trading a business, language is playing an important role of people, if human found difficult in the activation of a common in language spoken, they cannot trade in business. In this sense, not only is an international language inevitable, but also a necessary for trading, commerce and economic expansion by the turn of the century. The criticism to opposing the using of an international official language contends that it would lead to cultural corrosion and a loss of cultural values identity. However, the use of an international official language does not mean that their local languages will disappear. If English already functions as a kind of unofficial international language but this doesnââ¬â¢t mean that people only converse in using English or they ignore their own languages. English is used in specific contexts such as trade, business, etc. and native languages are used for everyday instruction.
